IGDA is Our Second Official Sponsor!

Welcome to our latest update for Indie Con DC! We are pleased to announce that the DC chapter of the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is our second official sponsor for the event. IGDA DC has been helping promote local game development and is a great sponsor to be adding to this event. Also a lot of the developers who are showing at Indie Con DC are members of IGDA DC. With their help we hope to let everyone know how many great developers are making great games right in the DC area! If you've always wanted to make a game but worried you might not know how to begin, they'll be running a Text Game Jam next weekend!

A New Name, Site, Sponsor, Developer, but Same Great Event -Indie Con DC!

It's been awhile since we have had a major update to Gaming in Public's big summer event but finally this event is about to explode!  John and I have been so busy planning this brand new update for everyone and we are excited to finally unveil it to the masses.

First off, we have changed the name. Why? We want people to understand what this event is all about and Indies Need a Con is great but we decided on calling it Indie Con DC. This event is the biggest public showing of indie developers from Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Indie Con DC better suits what this event is all about which is great DC area games!

Second is that we have an all new site. Of course you know that since you're reading my blog post about it right now. Now for all the latest updates and news about the event all you have to do is go to indiecondc.com.

Third is that we have an official sponsor for the event! DC Geeks,  the leading blog about all things geek in the area is sponsoring the event! They are a great organization and we are psyced  to have them backing this great event. This means bigger exposure, more people, and an awesome Indie Con DC!

Finally we have a seventh developer to announce! Daniel Silber of Interstellar Tortoise LLC will be showing Threads of Reality. You can try out the game for free right here just by clicking on the link!

Just two months away and Indie Con DC continues to evolve and that's great!  New games and new developers give more people more reasons to come. Stay tuned and check here for updates. Spread the word! Tell your friends, family and coworkers to come out to support and celebrate the greater DC area's local game developers.
